Violate
Fetish Club FAQ
Violate started nearly 7 years ago and has grown into Scotland's best
known and most popular fetish / BDSM club. We run clubs and parties
in Glasgow and Edinburgh as well as supporting local organisations
and companies who are trying to start up in the fetish market place
in Scotland. Cyber Clothing, Eilean Beithe and numerous clubs and
private parties that we have supplied kit and manpower for within
Scotland, have all experienced how Violate can help. They have no
connection with us but we believe that those on the Scottish scene
have to support each other and in our position as Scotland's oldest
and most popular club we will continue to do our best to promote the
best in Scottish fetish.

Are the crowd generally friendly to newbies? |
Violate has a terrific reputation for friendliness and newbies are very welcome.
Can I bring a camera? |
No. Cameras are not allowed. The only camera allowed at Violate, is the one used by Violate staff for the Snapshots section of the web site. All pictures are taken with the consent of those in it and anyone caught accidentally in the background will be fuzzed out of the pic unless we know they don’t mind being in pictures.Anyone found with a camera will be asked to put it away and not use it. If you continue to use the camera then we will ask for it and give it back at the end of the night. If you don’t want to give us the camera then we will ask you to leave the club without any refund of admission or membership.Digital copies of pictures are available from Violate but only to those who are in the picture. The pics can then be collected at a club night in person.

Can I just go in, or do I have to be introduced by a member? |
Pay your entry fee, go in and chat to people, or just watch, you'll find we are a friendly crowd at Violate. There is no requirement to be a member but if you are likely to go more than once, it does make sense financially to join.

Yes you can write to Violate. However, if you require a reply please include a stamped self addressed envelope.
Do people have sex there? |

I am a single guy, will I be allowed in? |
All are welcome, you don't need to be part of a couple. The same applies to single women. This is not a Swingers club
I don't know what I want to do will I be allowed to just watch? |
It's better to just watch until you get a feel for what's happening. If people are playing and you want to ask something, then wait until they are finished. Most people will be delighted that you are interested enough to ask, and glad to offer an explanation or to give advice. There is no compulsion to do anything at all.
I don't want to make a fool of myself, how should I behave when I'm in there? |
As before. Also don't touch anything belonging to someone else without asking or being invited, not their possessions, nor their 'slave(s)', Just because someone is very scantily dressed, or not, is not an invitation to touch. If you want to do something with someone then ask him or her. They have the same right that you have to say No, and it means No.

I’ve just seen a photo of myself on the Violate web site and I now don’t want it there. What can I do? |
We realise that people change their minds after pictures have been taken. If this happens then please contact us as soon as possible and we will either remove the picture or blur the identifying features (even if it is that strange tattoo on your ass).In general it takes less than a day to respond to requests for amendments.
Must I be a member? |
No but it does make financial sense if you want to come along more than once.
What do I do if something happens that I feel is wrong? |
Contact one of the organisers or helpers as soon as possible. Most problems can only really be dealt with on the night.
What if I meet someone I know from my day-to-day life? |
You’re both at a fetish club. Point and laugh at each other then offer to buy each other a drink.
What if there is an accident and someone gets hurt? |
Violate has trained first-aiders at all events. Contact one of the organisers who will help.
What is the drugs Policy at Violate |
No drugs are allowed at Violate. If you are suspected of taking drugs you will be asked to leave and possibly barred for life. If you suspect people of being on drugs please contact the organisers or security staff. Due to the laws of the land the security staffs decision is final.
What is the typical split of genders? |
It is impossible to say how the crowd is made up. Violate doesn’t target any particular type of person and so no two nights are the same when it comes to mixes of gender, sexuality or fetishes.
What sort of people go? |
All sorts. If you watch the people that walk past you in the street, they are the kind of people that go to a fetish club. Violate has people from 18-80 going to it. The majority of them are 30+. They are male female, gay straight, single attached, but all of them are tolerant
